Discount Shoes- There is a huge range of footwear to meet all sorts of different needs by a hugely diverse range of suppliers, at varying prices. Discount shoes vie with shoes at the manufacturer’s recommended retail price for their share of the market. Discount shoes are seen to offer more value for money, walking the walk quite literally.
Shoes are a covering for the feet, not necessarily a substantial covering, not always to meet a protective need. Feet are relatively easily damaged and shoes developed to protect the foot from the weather, ground conditions like mud and wet underfoot, for warmth and to stop your toe getting stubbed.
Early shoes were not a fashion accessory. Neanderthal human wrapped furs round their feet, no stiletto peep toe for Mrs. Caveman, just rabbit or bear skin tied on with sinew. The range of style and colour was obviously a bit limited by the availability of the fur. Ancient Egyptians had little need for say wellington boots so they wore sandals of varying sorts. Historically footwear evolved from a purely practical, rather than aesthetic point of view.
The supply of more attractive footwear and attractive often equates to absolutely impractical (seven inch stiletto heel leaps to mind) and as such were for a small clientele who could afford not to have to wear common workaday shoes. The phrase “well heeled” for someone with a healthy bank balance developed as a phrase describing people who could afford shoes that were well maintained.
Quality shoes have often been the preserve of the well heeled. The growth of a more affluent society, coupled with a strong sense of style has led to a faster turnaround in what people wear on their feet. Last month’s style is not acceptable to devout followers of fashion let alone last year’s style. And there is a relentless drive by style magazines, Television programmes and style icons which increases the pressure to have the latest shoe!
So where does that leave the value conscious shoe addict? Seriously out of pocket if they have to have the latest fashion all the time direct from the manufacturer as soon as it comes out.
Shoes are not a luxury. Not unless you enjoy walking round barefoot with all the risks that entails. It is your choice to buy or not to buy shoes and how fashionable you want them. Discount shoes offer the opportunity to keep up with the game.
